Power BI Analytics Dashboards

Cleaner analytical storytelling for teams that need to understand raw numbers quickly.

Repository not publicly availableLive demo not publicly available

Problem

Business intelligence dashboards that translate noisy datasets into decision-friendly visuals and operational views.

Context

A set of business-intelligence exercises focused on turning source data into decision-oriented Power BI views using SQL, Excel, and visual analysis.

My Role

AI/ML Engineer, Data Systems Builder & Motion UI Developer

Contribution

  • Prepared source data for dashboard analysis with SQL and Excel-based cleaning steps.
  • Organized Power BI report views around comparisons, trends, and operational summaries.
  • Applied responsive visual hierarchy so the most important analytical signal remains readable first.

Architecture

  • Source data

Provides the raw tables and spreadsheet inputs used by the analysis.

    Feeds Transform layer

  • Transform layer

Cleans and reshapes source fields with SQL and spreadsheet tooling.

    Feeds Analytical model

  • Analytical model

Organizes measures and relationships for report consumption.

    Feeds Power BI report

  • Power BI report

Presents the decision-oriented charts and summaries.

Engineering Decisions

Separate source preparation from report presentation

Reason: A clean analytical model keeps visual pages focused on interpretation instead of repair work.

Tradeoff: Changes to source fields must be propagated through the transform and model layers.

Prioritize a small number of decision signals per view

Reason: Dense dashboards make it harder to identify the first useful comparison.

Tradeoff: Secondary detail moves to supporting pages or drill-down views.

Outcomes

  • Made complex data easier to compare, read, and act on through stronger dashboard structure and clearer visuals.

Limitations

  • No public dashboard file, source dataset, or quantified business outcome is linked.
  • The linked Power BI learning record supports training context, not a claim of production deployment.
